FAQ

Good questions, straight answers.

If yours isn't here, email me and you'll get a real answer from a real person.

The offer

What exactly do I get for $499?

A complete website: homepage, a page for every tour, about, reviews, and contact pages, copywriting drafted from your questionnaire answers, your booking platform wired in and tested, your photos put to work, and a launch walkthrough. The full packing list is here.

What's the catch with the founding rate?

There isn't one hiding in the fine print. Site in a Suitcase is new, and the first cohort of sites earns the case studies. Founding buyers get the complete build at $499 in exchange for honest feedback and, if the site earns it, a testimonial. When the founding spots are filled, the price moves to $1,497.

What is Safe Travels?

The optional care plan, $39/mo. I handle updates, weekly backups, and security monitoring, and it includes up to 30 minutes of small edits a month, like swapping a hero photo or updating a tour price. Cancel anytime. Founding buyers lock in $39/mo for life. Details on the pricing page.

Is there a payment plan?

At the founding rate, payment is a single invoice before the build starts. If that timing is genuinely the only thing in the way, email me and we'll figure something out.

Booking & platforms

Do I need FareHarbor?

No. FareHarbor gets the deepest integration, with availability checks opening right on your tour pages. If you're on Peek Pro, Rezdy, Checkfront, or something else, your tour pages hand guests cleanly to your booking page. And any tour can run in inquiry mode with a request form instead of online booking.

Will the booking flow actually work on phones?

That's the point of the whole thing. Most of your direct bookings start on a phone, and the booking handoff is where operator sites quietly lose sales. Yours gets clicked all the way through on real phones before launch, not just checked in a desktop preview.

Ownership & tech

Do I actually own the site?

Yes. WordPress, on hosting in your name, on your domain. If we never speak again after launch, you keep everything and it keeps working. If you ever want to work with someone else, you hand them the keys.

What about hosting and my domain?

Both stay in your name, on purpose, so nobody can ever hold your website hostage. If you don't have hosting yet, I'll help you pick something solid and set it up during the build.

Can I edit the site myself?

Yes. Prices, photos, tour details, and seasonal notes live in simple fields, and you get a walkthrough at launch. If you'd rather never log in at all, Safe Travels includes small monthly edits done for you.

I already have a website. What happens to it?

We launch the new site on your existing domain and point your old page addresses to their new homes, so you keep the Google presence you've earned. Your old site stays untouched until the new one is ready, so there's no gap.

The process

How long does it take?

About two weeks from the day you finish your questionnaire. The questionnaire itself is self-paced, so the total calendar time mostly depends on you.

How much of my time will this take?

About two hours total. Roughly an hour for the questionnaire, split up however you like, and about an hour reviewing your copy and your site before launch.

Who writes the words?

I draft everything from your questionnaire answers, so it sounds like you and not like a brochure. You review and approve every word before launch. Nothing goes live that you haven't read.

What about photos? Mine aren't professional.

Good. The golden-hour shots on your phone beat stock photography every time, because guests can tell the difference between your river and a stock river. I'll help you pick the twelve that sell the feeling.

Is my kind of tour business a fit?

If you run itinerary-based experiences and take bookings, almost certainly: kayak and rafting outfitters, food and wine tours, ghost and history walks, jeep and ATV tours, fishing charters, photography and wildlife excursions, and their cousins. If you're not sure, book a quick call and ask.

What happens after launch if something breaks?

Email me. I built it, I stand behind it. And if you want the never-think-about-it-again version, that's exactly what Safe Travels is for.

Asked everything you wanted to ask?

Then the next step is easy: open the demo, poke around, and claim a founding spot for $499.
